A genuine China experience

Wuxi offers a genuine China experience in that there is still not a huge expat community, although it does attract both young and old, married couples or single teachers. Considered relatively small by Chinese standards – it boasts a population of 4.5 million – it is large enough to have a growing metro system, an airport and is well-connected by fast trains to other parts of China.
Wuxi’s cost of living is lower in comparison to larger cities. Cheap rents and a laid-back atmosphere make Wuxi a great place to enjoy a high-quality of living and still be able to set money aside.
Wuxi is famous as a vacation spot in China as it sits on the banks of China’s third largest lake, the beautiful Taihu Lake. The whole area has various waterways in addition to this lake, including the famous Grand Canal. It’s also easy to get out of the city and enjoy hiking trails across the area’s many gentle hills.
